| In 1973 Mr. John Thompson, Jr. finished law school and began practicing in Miami, FL. For the next 28 years he practiced civil litigation in the areas of medical-legal, products liability, nursing homes and auto. During his legal career he was blessed to serve the Dade County Bar, State of Florida, the University of Miami, The City of Miami and Legal Services of Greater Miami. During his career he was frequently asked to speak at Miami area hospitals and attorney groups. Mr. Thompson has served on the boards of directors of Greater Miami Youth for Christ, State of Florida DOC Foundation, Legal Services of Greater Miami, The Upper Room Walk to Emmaus International Advisory Committee, and Camillus House. He has served on different committees within his church including the building committee. He has been a Eucharist minister, a lay reader, worked on the Festival for the Poor, and actively participated in the life of his Church. Mr. Thompson began as a volunteer for Kairos in the late 80's, has been a team leader, advisory council member, AKT instructor and since 2001, he serves as the Executive Director of Kairos Prison Ministry, Inc. |

| Brett graduated from St. Paul Bible College with BAs in History and World Missions and has a BSBA from University of Central Florida in Accounting. He has been a CPA for over 10 years and served as CFO or Controller for most of the companies he has worked with for the last 12 years, both domestically and internationally. He has worked in the Non Profit, Legal and Hospitality sectors. Brett joined the Kairos staff as the Chief Financial Officer in December of 2007 and is a men's inside volunteer at Lake Correctional Institution. |
| Daniel joined the Kairos staff in March, 2010. He is an ordained United Methodist minister, where he has served as pastor, district superintendent, as a member of the staff of the General Board of Global Ministries and as an educator. He is currently a member of the United Methodist General Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns, the South Central Jurisdiction Mission Council and the Rio Grande Conference Board of Pensions. He and his wife Ana are parents of six adult children and have eight grandchildren. |
| Bill has been the Coordinator of Men's Ministry since April 2005 when he and his wife, Cheryl, relocated to the Orlando area. Prior to that, he was involved in public education for 31 years as a history/ math/English teacher and football coach in Texas. He is a graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he also did his post-graduate work (BA/MA). He became involved with Kairos 20 years ago as a volunteer at the Beto Unit near Palestine, Texas, and has been part of the Leadership Training (AKT) for KPMI for over 10 years. |
| Jo Chapman has a B.A. Child Development, Social Work and M.A. Spiritual Psychology. Developed Kairos Outside in 1990, an international ministry for women who have been impacted by the incarceration of a loved one. Co-developer of Torch Ministries in 2001, an international mentoring ministry for youthful offenders. Developer of L.I.F.E. (Leaders in Future Environments) in 2001, a mentoring program for youth who have an incarcerated family member. Co-Founder of Peace Creations in 1993, an agency presenting Domestic Violence, Anger Management and Parenting to the community and in correctional institutions nationwide. Trains trainers and volunteers for KPMI. Instructor for the Parenting program at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, 1992 to present. Currently serves on-staff and as a Coordinator of Women's Ministries for KPMI. |
| Kevin is a native of Indiana and attended grade school through college in Indianapolis. Before moving to Florida in August of 2005, he worked in city government for 25 years in the positions of Assistant Director/Youth Program Councilor for the Summer Youth Work Program, District Superintendent for DPW/DOT, Affirmative Action Manager, Special Projects Manager and Contract Manager. He served as the Executive Director of Mentoring With A Mission, Inc., is an ordained minister and has served as a Youth Pastor and Pastor of Worship. Kevin has sat on several different non-profit boards and is the Coordinator of Youth Ministry (Torch) for KPMI. |
| Judy has been employed by Kairos Prison Ministry Intl office as the Office Manager since January 2002. Her career has been in accounting for the last 36 years. She and her husband Jim have lived on the east side of Orlando for 16 years. They have three grown children, three grandchildren, a dog and a 90 year old mother-in-law who now lives with them. They attend First Baptist Church of Oviedo in Oviedo, Florida. |
| Ann was born and raised in Western Kansas but now resides in Orlando, Florida where she has been an Executive Administrative Assistant for Kairos since December of 2006. She and her husband, Mark, relocated to Orlando from Manchester, New Hampshire, where she was employed by the Diocese of Manchester for 5 years. Prior to that, she was employed as an Occupancy Specialist for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Lafayette, Indiana. She and Mark have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. |
| Brenda has served as a volunteer for 10 years actively in Kairos and Kairos Outside at the following facilities: Hernando Women's SP, Coleman Federal Woman's Camp, and Lowell Women's SP. She was Chairperson at Coleman Advisory council, formed in 1998 and was Vice President and Chairperson on the Area Council in Central Florida. She has also represented the Council and Area at State Board. Brenda learned to play the guitar so that she could continue her service in Kairos and Kairos Outside. |
| Janet and her family moved to Orlando 7 years ago from Philadelphia. She attended Philadelphia Community College, Penn State University, Harcum College and Temple University. Janet and her husband have been together for over 15 years. They owned a landscaping company for 10 years and a marketing firm for 5 years. In 2005, she started Community Outreach Toys with the D.A.R.E. program and Arnold Palmer Hospital collecting toys for underpriveledge and sick children in Central Florida. The program has collected over 100,000 toys which are given to schools, hospitals, churches, police departments, family services and women's shelters. |
| Christina Bermudez began working at KPMI over a year ago and has now joined the staff as a full-time employee. She moved to Florida 6 years ago and graduated from Winter Park High School She currently is a student at Keiser University where she is studying Occupational Therapy. She is responsible for developing specifications for printing, binding and finishing materials, using the publishing equipment/machinery. Christina also handles the shipping of Weekend supplies to our volunteers and all other UPS shipping- related duties, as well as overseeing the stock/inventory. |
